Laser/Light combo X2L? M6? or TLR-2?
Just purchased a XD 40 Sub Compact for home defense. I've done some research and have searched the forums. It seems the ones worth buying range from $175 to about $300. From what I've gathered, popular ones are Insight's X2L and M6 to Streamlight's TLR-2. X2L weighs 1.7 oz w/ 40 lumens. M6 is 3.7 oz w/ 80 lumens. TLR-2 is 4.7 oz w/80 lumens.
Is 40 lumens enough or is it worth the $100 xtra for the 40 more lumens. Best price I've found so far is off of coolcopgear.com for the X2L at $169 + shipping or the same on ebay. All imput appreciated. Thanks, AO |

Neither the TLR-2 or the M6X will fit on your subcompact's rail.
The X2L is your best choice with the subcompact. If you watch the boards, you can often find them used for $135-140 shipped. |

good to know before I go blow $250 bones so that narrows me down to the X2L or just the X2 if I want the light only. What do you guys think? Light or light/laser combo?

To many the laser is just a novelty. But to me it is a cool novelty. I have a x2 for the forty but would buy a x2l for the 9 just for fun.
