Need help with trigger finger placement

So I picked up my XD9SC today, and almost fell in love. I've had a Tac9 for a while, but wanted something that I could conceal. This little thing is sweet! When I got home, I immediately broke it down, cleaned it up, and got to business. With my tactical, I shoot pretty much dead on out to 25 yards. When I started with the SC, all of my shots were between 7-8 o'clock, and 2-3 inches low at 10 yards. I worked through some slow fire drills, and the groups came up, and I'm now shooting at 9 o'clock even, still 2-3 inches out. I knew that there was a chart around here that discussed this issue (found it here:
An excellent training aid for those new to handgun shooting.
) and it says that I'm using too little trigger. So my question is this: What part of the trigger finger do you use? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can't wait to start carrying this, but until I'm on target a little better, it will have to wait. Note: this only happens on faster shots. When I go very slow, there is no problem dumping a mag in one hole with either the sc or the tactical.

You should be using the middle of the pad. Not the tip of the finger and not the joint. Right in the middle of the pad. It is also worth mentioning that you should check the rear sights. I also shot left about 2" my first time out. All 52 rounds were grouped tight and left. I thought it was me also until I found these forums and read a couple of posts where people said there sights were off out of the box. I checked mine that night and they were noticeably off to the left which explains why I was grouping left.

I press the trigger with my finger a bit more toward the tip than the middle, probably about 1/3 of the way from the tip to the first joint. It's something I just had to work it out, to find the sweet spot. I'm sure it's slightly different for everyone.

That's so true. You need to fins what's comfortable for you. Different people, different ideas, different preferences.
