Say Hello to the new addition to the family

So I've been away from the board from awhile due to work and family related issues. During this time I passed up an excellent deal, as I posted about, on a XD 45 5" Compact.

Well, I closed a couple HUGE deals at work, got settled in the new home and the wife said I could buy whatever I wanted. I have to be honest and tell you all that I came very close to buying a Kimber Warrior or SIS, I just wasn't comfortable spending $1K on a handgun at this time. I'd like to improve my skills before that.

So, I picked up a beautiful Bi-Tone 4" XD45 Compact. I haven't been to the range yet but plan on going this week. Pics follow for you to ogle.

The XD .45 Compact is what sold me on XD's. Amazingly wonderful design! Enjoy lots of rounds. And in my experience the trigger definitely improves through the first few hundred rounds.

Thanks for all the good thoughts. Just got back from the range. Put a box of the range's ammo through her and it purred like a baby kitten.

Next I tried out the Federal HST 230 grain +P. Put 30 rounds down range so I would know how she liked the ammo and also what to expect should a situation requiring force come about. WOW is all I can say. Decent recoil, not nearly what I was expecting which is nice.

I'm very pleased.

Now I just need to work on why I keep shooting to the left with both weapons.

Congrats on the new house, big business deals, and of course the new XD! When you way says "you can get whatever you want" you have to jump on that before she changes her mind.

I'm looking at a Mossberg for the house. Not to expensive and I could hide the cost of that easily .
