guide rods?
is there any benifit to having a piece guide rod? and anyone know how much it costs to have all your parts that show hard chromed?

A one piece guide rod lets you vary spring weight by using 1911 springs. Mahovsky's will do your slide and barrel in hard chrome for $70.

Yep what "jnclement" said if you don't intend to use different power reloads a one piece guide rod is not really required. Of course they eliminate the possibility of breaking and look really cool polished.

thanks for the replys but i have a stainless 45 and im planing on geting a stainless barrel so im more interested in the trigger slide stop grip safety and the take down pin any idea how much thats going to cost me?
