We cut the brits loose in 1776. They didn't know what they were doing then and they still haven't figured it out. We'll have to go over there and save their butts again before it's all done.

My daughter lives there now and has had enough. She received her masters and has a great job but will be returning to the States in August. She says it will be great to return to sanity.

My understanding is that the upper hand is always to the criminals there. Not only can you not use firearms (and, soon-to-be outlawed, knives) to protect yourself, but the word is that most people who "hurt" or "injury" someone such as an intruder or assailant are usually charged--or at the very least sued...even when it is obvious that they are acting in self-defense.
