When have you EVER read an unfavorable review in a gun rag?

I've actually never read a gun review in a gun rag. Most are blank, except for the GSR I just wiped off of my slide.

G&A Review

Just got the latest G&A. They make the XD-m sound like a major improvement over the XD. I don't buy that. My XD is 100% - has gone bang everytime I pulled the trigger, gives me far more than acceptable groups, and feels great in my hand.

As for a gun mag (not really a mag) that tells it how it is, try Gun Tests.

$599 here in Houston. That's not a bad price for that gun. Maybe it's not 7 generations ahead of the standard XD's, but I don't see any bad features on it, just different. I'm still buying one because I am presently handgunless. I could buy a new Glock 23 for $499, but by the time I put a new barrel on it, I've spent more than the XDM. I'm gonna reload for it so I want a "reload-friendly" gun. I don't think anyone that picks one up will say it doesn't point well, cuz it does. Nuff said, the best pistol is the one I will own!

What some paid gun writers have to say about a firearm means jack**** to me. I read the magazines mostly for entertainment value and to have firearm related stuff to look/drool over when I'm not actually shooting.

You can walk into a store today and pretty much ANY polymer framed hand gun is going to be 100%. Just pick the one that you like the most by how it feels in your hand or if you really want to by the way it looks. They all go bang they have all so far proven their reliability.

If I want a gas piston gun, I will get my HK P7M8 out of the safe.
