When I was in the Army if we dropped our weapon we had to get down with it ... did you knock out 25 push-ups?

The first week after I got my XD9 Service model I was screwing around with the weak holster that came with it in the XDGear package... and i fumbled reholstering it (unloaded) and it took a nose dive into concrete.... scuffed up the end of the guiderod that protrudes a bit out and made horrible sounding noise... but the gun has been flawless since then and Ive put probablt 1200-1400 rounds through it.

As others have said the tile is in a lot worse condition then your XD...

BTW- I was very disappointed in myself for dropping my new baby on the unforgiving concrete but it certainly didn't compromise the function of the XD

I'd rather have my XD and not need it, then need it and not have it....

just make sure the crown of the barrel is ok before you test.
the barrel on the xd45 is pretty thin and if it landed wrong it could possibly pinch it a little and that might cause some over pressure. but unless you can see a noticable pinch then dont worry.

I'm sure I saw a XD Tile test somewhere on the internet and she passed with flying colors.

Don't you remember how badly you felt the first time you accidentally dropped your child? The kid turned out to be fine (well, almost fine!), and your XD will be too!

XD .45 ACP 4" Duo Tone Service

I was in my living room, carpeted, and my dining room is very hard tile.

I was practicing withdrawling from concealed carry, yes - empty/clear.

the 2nd attempt (not the 2nd attempt ever, just during practice), I pulled, and lost my grip, and dropped it to the floor - it was half on the carpet, half on the tile, but definitely hit the tile. (owner since april this year, and have used since November 07)

The slightest smudge is on the slide, just to the left side of the front sight, and the tile has a 3 inch crack - mostly, a split.

I test fired, while empty, about 10 times, and broke it down a few times - all seemed fine.

I never wanted to drop this fine piece of machinery...and now I did - I'm not sure that it won't work, but want to be positive that it will.

Anybody ever do the same as me?
i dropped mine awhile ago and crushed the crown of my barrel. The thread is probally still on this site. I got a new barrel and have since then put 2,000 more rounds through it. The gun is fine, i promise!
My gun has also been molested before by a half-wit gun smith. he decided that he had to take the firing pin assembly apart to get to the rear sight. Long story short, gun parts went everywhere. And it STILL works after that! Believe me, these XD's are Tanks.

Sounds more like user error than a weak holster.
