Thanks! That would have been sweet if they did but thought the chance was very slim. The grip chop really doesn't look that difficult to pull off if you take your time.

Ya i just dont know pretty nervous about it, cuz my luck i get lemons all the fricken time and i would get a problem with something unrelated to the grip and they would void my warranty or something because i made the plastic handle shorter....

If you do a search here I believe you can send the pistol out and have the grip chop done or you may have a local gunsmith who can do it. I am not sure but I think at xdguys.com they have a template you can download to use for doing the grip chop. You may want to give the XD45C another look it really is an excellent firearm.

ya im leaning to it for its size, and i wasnt against getting a .45 just the .40 has cheaper ammo and fits more rounds.

I would go with a grip chop from one of the gun smiths on here that offer it. From my understanding, Springfield has a common sense on the warranty and wouldn't care. I wouldn't say that for certain, but I'm 99.9% for sure. Enough that it wouldn't bother me.
Anyway, if you decided you didn't want it I know someone that would buy it from you! Of course, I just went with the 3" model since I wanted it quick. |

I'm not sure but is there a conversion barrel from 45 down to 40 ? Check EFK firedragon ( I think ) If it can go from 45 to 40 you can have this set up with the 45 compact. If so, that's what I'm saving up for now and didn't even know it.

What makes the conversion barrels work well in the XD from .40 down to 9mm is the frame is basicaly the same for the magazines - thus it works. Even if you put a .40 barrel in a .45 you couldn't get a clip that would work in the frame.

Springer Precision will do a grip chop for approx. $75 Once its chopped your down to 10 rounds just like the 45 compact though. 40 is cheaper but not by much (at least around here.) |
