stainless or black?

I'm buying an new XD SC 9

Would you go black or stainless? What are the merits of each? Does the black have rusting tendencies like those I read about for the S&W M&P?

I did go with black because I liked the look better for a carry gun. To each his own, of course. And, no, I haven't had any rust issues whatsoever.

I went with stainless because it looked better to me. Either way, you will love the way it shoots.

stbarsh,

Welcome to the Forum.

I'd go Black. But then again, I'm kinda Partial to black. Thats what I carry.

It has also been DuraCoated about 3 1/2 years ago. So there is Holster wear from the Kydex Holster.

In reality, it is whatever YOU like the looks of. THAT is what you get.

As Always, Stay Safe.

I went with the stainless version. I like the 2-tone look, but that's my preference.

welcome to the forum from Milton,FL. I have the SC 40 and I went with black. It has the Melonite treatment so Never any rust problems.I just recently had the slide Hard Chromed by Tripp's Research. It looks great but I think I like all black better but the hard chrome is a plating process and the most wear resistant and rust resistant that is my understanding at least. The hard chrome was done in a Satin look so there is no glare. Tripp's did a great job I just have to get used to the Bi-Tone look.
