help me decide my next pistol...

I have decided to pick up a pistol...XD ...However, I am trying to figure out which ones to get. I can get XDM and it is about $120 more than a service model XD40. Is this worth the difference? Also, I own a Glock 30 (45acp). Should I plan on getting another 45 instead of another caliper? it would be one less type of ammo to carry/store. Other firearms I have are SKS and AR. I know I should try these out and see which one I like best. However, at the moment I do not have any place that would let me try before I buy. thanks.

I think that you can only get XDM in 40 at this time. I have a 9mm service that I have used for several years without any malfunctions at all in around 5k rounds. It is the cheapest to shoot, but if you prefer 45 it will be a great gun for you. I have shot 5" 45 of my brothers that I can hardly tell a differnce from my 9mm. It has a more rearward push but less muzzle flip than my service 9. You can get a conversion barrel for the 40 which will allow you to practice with 9mm for arround the price difference of the XD to XDM

If I were you I would lean towards a 9mm for cheaper practice and range time. If you aren't interested in the 9mm then I would get a .45 compact so that you can share ammo.

I was thinking of the 9mm too. What are your thoughts on the XDM is it worth the difference?

You can never have too many .45's but the same goes for 9mm and .40

Don't get the XDM if plan on carrying. It's not a carry pistol.

Since you like the 45 ACP, everyone needs at least one 1911.

I love my Xd 45 Compact but then again I just love XDs. I would go with the XD 45C or a XD 9 or 40 SC
