New XD buyer in Naples

Howdy, folks.

Looking to purchase my first XD9.

I plan on using it as my main CCW for daily carry. I'm about 5'6'' and 145 lbs, and in pretty good shape. Seeing as I'm not exactly the Hulk, what would best suit me? The Service, or the Tactical?

I'd prefer to carry full-size, if possible, but am willing to compromise. Also, I'm going to be carrying in an IWB right-side holster, if that helps at all.

Thanks for any input y'all have, especially from folks of a similar build about concealing the XD.

I have a Tactical and would not want to use it as a carry weapon...its a pretty big gun. I am 6' 185LB and would not want to carry it around all day.

I'm getting the XD9 SC this week and it's the perfect size (my .02 cents). I have been wearing an IWB holstered Beretta 92 but it's just too heavy. Believe it or not it did conceal well.

I like the tactical version myself for carry. One reason is my xd.45 tactical is the same length as the gov model 1911.
I have never thought the barrel was hard to keep hidden for a ccw but the grip/butt of the gun has been the hard part to keep from printing.
That said I use my xd tac for daily carry with a loose fit button up shirt.

Rent the sub-compact and giggle every time you hit the bullseye. Oh and try to watch the look on the faces of the guys with the Kimbers and other high dollar guns who can't hit jack

Welcome from UT. I have family in Naples. I carry the XD40SC, but sometimes carry the 4" .40. I would recommend the 4" model as it will be lighter and easier to draw.
