Just bought new XD40 slide stuck open!
I just bought a brand new XD40 today. I took it apart, and then when i tried to put the slide back on the reciever it jammed on something. the slide isn't even far enough back for the slide catch lever to engage. it won't slide back or forward!! the rear safety grip also seems to be stuck in aswell, i don't know if the slide could have gotten stuck on it. i tried to rack the slide back as hard as i could and it won't budge.
the gun is brand new and i've never put any rounds through it. does anyone have any ideas? thanks |

I've never had that issue.
Did you insert the barrel/spring properly on the slide? |

Welcome to the forum from WA! Take it back to the shop of which you bought it and let them look at it.

Welcome from Minnesota. Is the takedown lever still up & down?
Just guessing. Probably should just take it in. Put a post in the smithing area. You'll get more views there.

That ^ sounds like the problem to me! I tried to duplicate your problem and the takedown lever in the down position caused it for me.
