Went to the range yesterday...
Well, I went to the range yesterday and I have a confession to make. I might be converted to a Glock guy. I was shooting my XD40SC and a G27 G3. Last time I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with my SC but I could with my Service so I am definitely getting better, but I do like the feel of the G27 with the finger grooves. I also seemed to shoot a little better. I'm going back out today, hopefully, to see if I can work this Glock thing out of my system, but who knows how it will go. Does anybody seem to shoot the Glock better?
Sorry no pics, too embarassed. I did get 1 spot on though.

I definitely don't shoot the Glocks better. The XD is for me! But, everyone is different and if you are a Glock guy then, well, I am sorry. Seriously, stick with what works, but give your decision some time to prove itself.

Glocks are fine pistols. Shoot what works best for you.

Yeah, shoot what works for you. We won't like you any less....well, maybe.

+1 It's different for everyone. Personally I shoot the XD better too.

I just had the reverse experience and sold my last Glock - good guns but I just never warmed up to the shape of the grip and the overall ergonomics - rather than dicking around with modifications, I decided to sell them. Everyone is different - go with whatever works for you.

If it's the finger grooves making all the difference, just throw a Hogue slide-on grip onto your XD.
Takes about 5 mins and an exacto knife to trim a notch for the grip safety, and you're good to go! The reason I don't prefer GLOCK is due to the grip angle more than anything else. But I'm a big proponent of shoot what feels good, and that's different for everyone.

+1. It is comments like this that make me absolutely love this forum! I can't tolerate fanboys of any type...
I can't hit the broadside of a barn with a glock (ok, more like that pesky x ring...), but my best friend is much more proficient with his Glock 21 than with my XD 45.

Many moons ago I was issued a Sig as my duty weapon (transitioned from the old S&W .38 revolover), and try as I might, I could never become better than marginal with it during qualifications. Several years ago, I started down the Glock path and was blown away by how much my shooting improved with them. Recently, I purchased an XD9SC, and found it to be eerily accurate for a sub-compact. I'm no longer a cop, but I use a Glock 21SF as my primary carry, and the XD9SC as my back-up gun. Brand loyalty is admirable, but I agree with the other members comments about using what works for you. I'm very competent with the G21SF, and feel confident in the power of the .45, but equally impressed with the XD9SC's accuracy and concealability. I feel strongly that everyone should consider all options when selecting a defensive tools. For what it's worth........

I have a Glock 23 that I purchased 2 years ago. It's a good gun and I great very good accuracy with it. I also own an XD9 and an XD45, and like them much better. In fact, I'm going to see the Glock as soon as I can and get an XDM instead.
I am converted!
