What is XD9 V10?

I assume V10 means variant 10, but what does that mean?

I searched the Springfield site, but can't seem to find any reference to V10.

Thanks

Shoulda searched the forum instead of SA's site.

V10 is the name Springfield assigns to their proprietary porting system. V10 = 10 ports in the barrel.

Like mine

there is also a V16 (16 ports) in their 1911 line.

All I can say is WOW. You are the man. Envy is not the word.

But is it something you actually shoot.... or is it like my old vintage 1965 Corvette that I used to keep in the garage and only take out a couple times a month to air out, afraid to drive for fear someone might scratch it in the mall parking lot.

Looks like you have a piece of art that ought to be hanging in some museum. Very nice my friend.

BTW, is that the custom larger size slide release lock button that I need for my XDm I see on yours. Nice if it is. I need one. Where did you get it?

Thanks everyone for the compliments.

it is a 100% shooter. I bought it brand new with the intent for customizing a bit and shooting a LOT. Damn good shooter and lots of fun.

IMO the 9 isn't worth getting a V10 in because the difference is negligible, mine is a 40, and there is quite the difference.

More pics here:

My newly customized XD40 V10. Your thoughts?

And from when she was bone stock here:

Scored an XD40 V10 for $375! Pics..
