Anyone using their XD for IDPA or EDC?

Yep, I'm new here.

I've been using Sigs for IDPA and EDC for sometime. Recently picked up an XD and was quite pleased with the feel of it, rented it and was just as happy with how it shoots.

Really like the trigger, grip angle, and the safety features. I'd like to hear from some members, are any of you using your XD for IDPA? What about everyday carry?

Thank you

Setting up new XD45 Tactical for USPSA. (Limited Class)

Love 'em both.

IDPA - International Defensive Pistol Shooting, it's a competition which presents real world situations. Good for both training, and for fun.

EDC - Every Day Carry

My new edc is a XD9SC. This is my 4th XD (for some reason I keep buying them and then selling them and then buying them again). I've owned 2 XD9 Service & a XD40SC in addition to the one I'm now carrying. Great guns for every day. Can't say anything about IDPA (only comps around here are GSSF) unfortunately.

Yeah, too bad Springfield doesn't come up with a SSSF.

Two categories, XD and 1911.

The GSSF shoots are pretty limited in scope, still, we've got to give it to Glock. By starting the GSSF they kinda helped get the ball rolling on a reenergized interest in shooting.

I'm looking to get started in IDPA, and I'll probably use my XD9sc. If I get a P99 AS/QA anytime soon I might use that instead.

Yup. I've always said that Glock is a great marketing company that just happens to produce good pistols. As much as I don't favor the guns (they're great but leave me wanting more), they've done a lot for the shooting community (both good and bad I guess).
