I went to an IDPA qualifier to shoot my XD45 for the first time. I qualified marksman by 2 points. I attribute it 98% to the gun. I've now since been "Springerized" so I can't wait to try it again!

EDC - XD9SC
IDPA - XD9, sometimes XD45.

It has been a while, but I used my XD-45 in IDPA over the last three years quite a bit. Everything stock, over 5500 rounds through at present. Still going strong. Probably half of those rounds were in IDPA. My favorite pistol out of a sizeable collection.
I also used my XD-40 SC in IDPA a couple of times. It is sitting at just over 3300 rounds. Neither have had any probs or parts replaced. Now I'm on the hunt for the XD-M.

When my Cross Breed SuperTuck comes in my EDC will primarily be my XD9SC though there will be times when I'll change out to my XD45C 4".
Although I don't shoot competition at the moment I have a friend whose comp gun is an XD40. I'm debating about using my XD45C 5" or going with a wheel gun, probably a 629 4" with 44sp equivalent loads. |
