for me with my xd, i was shooting high too at first, but i had never owned a polymer gun and wasnt used to the kick from such a top heavy weapon. When i noticed i was shooting high, i started shooting my 1911 and was dead on (same with the sig p220), so that verified it for me. I just got a grip on it and kept shooting it and i started to get a lot more accurate. Now i love it. Just a little hard for me to get used to at first.

When I rush my trigger squeeze I start to shoot everything low and right( I'm left handed). My CCW instructor gave me a great tip. Just focus on bringing the pad of your trigger finger straight back into your palm. It helped me immensely.

A couple of things I've learned over the years.
1. Don't put a death grip on the gun, only a firm grip is needed. to much pressure with the left hand (if holding gun in right hand) will make you pull the gun to the left as you squeeze the trigger or jerk the trigger back. 2. If you have a three dot site system line up the dots. many people try to line up the back dots with the top of the front site blade. You will shoot low. 3. Don't brace or try to stop the recoil, you will push the barrel down as you pull the trigger. So get a firm grip, line up the sites properly for you gun, squeeze the trigger and blow out the bulls eye.

Nice PDF's I've given them a look over, have seen em before, but was nice refresher. I did notice when doing some dry fire testing that I'm moving my front site when the trigger goes off.... BUT, I'm moving it right not left, so... lol no idea there. Also tho, i was only doing that when I had a snapcap in the chamber, no movement when the chamber was clear. I also know tho that I don't do that at all with my HK's which leave me to believe that it could very well be, I'm not used to the strength or difference in the trigger pull with a round in. Seems some more dry fire testing/practice is in order. On a better note tho, I really enjoyed shooting it. Was a very smooth action adn nice kick. Was a bit stronger of a kick than my .40 HK USP Expert, as I expect, but was nicely a lighter kick than my HK USP .45. On a different note to, I was shooting dead on with my wife's XD9sc... Coulda just been a bad day on the range for me, will have to see how I shoot next time I head out there.
