Maybe it's a matter of who is handling the application, i.e. which store or what not.

I'm an Alaskan resident and have had three background checks at Impact Guns Ogden in three years, two for purchases and one for a transfer. They always remark about my clean-as-a-whistle record. On the last one my name came up as a match (some other knucklehead with a similar name was on a watch list or something) so it took a couple of hours for the check to come out clean. I have no doubts as to the thoroughness of Impact Guns.

I live in Oregon and have a permit here and it's a real pain in the ass to have to get permits for here and there.

I say we should be able to carry without a permit like Alaska!

I am by no means an anti, but this is too far. Permits should be necessary. I don't think they should be difficult to get, but I definitely think the background check is a good thing.
