What safety rule is being violated? It's pointed in a safe direction, he knows his target and what is behind, one hand has a firm grip on the gun...

Sorry, but I fail to see anything bad about this technique, short of costing a lot of money.

You've got your opinion, and obviously I've got mine. That's what makes America great.

If it was so dangerous i wouldnt be doing it. I am not an idiot and know my limits, now if i was bump firing a desert eagle then maybe i would agree.

so if you watch the video of my bumping my ar, even if you see the rifle recoiling and me forcing it forward (or pulling the trigger each time) its illegal? i dont think so, some of you guys need to take a chill pill. its not illegal and sorry but im not 13 years old either. if i wanted to bump and hit a target i would practice, but im not trying to hit anything. again its my ammo and gun, im not breaking the law and all the cops, DEA and border patrol agents around here agree, otherwise i think they would have thrown me in the can along time ago. opinions are opinions and dont try and preach about how guys like me will get guns banned in the U.S. BULLS*&T you guys should worry more about the real scum out there robbing people and shooting peopl everynight. Just imagine, i can see it now, HEADLINE NEWS "A video on youtube depicting a young man manipulating his handgun to fire like a full auto was pulled off the internet and the mans house raided by the ATF GESTAPO. The man is now serving a life sentence for making his semi auto firearms fire like a fully automatic weapon. A nation wide gun ban is being enforced due to a technique called bump firing."
lol

please spare me.:roll :: roll:
and hey i would be famous also! yay
You didn't "pull" the trigger. The force of the cartridge firing caused the gun to rebound back upon your finger. It took no muscle movement to cause those shots. That is exactly the point.

+1
I see no problem in this guy bumpfiring. Its his gun, his ammo and as others have stated he is pointing the gun downrange. One bullet for every trigger pull....why is this even an issue? Anyone ever wanna blow off some steam by doing something a little different? Example, i practice shooting my compound bow from VERY LONG distances that i would never even think about doing if i was aiming at an animal. Why? Cuz sometimes its actually fun and entertaining to myself to see just how far i can push the limits of my bow. ITS NOT PRACTICAL to try shooting an arrow 100 yards at a animal...but when you are shooting at a haybale at 100 yards. Who cares? I am in no way trying to compare the dangers of arrows and bullets, big difference but both can be deadly. My point is if someone chooses to take a different approach to one of their hobbies, good for them If the thread starter got hurt while doing this bumpfire technique...its HIS body and HIS ego that get bruised. As long as no one else is harmed more power to ya! I'm not trying to argue with any of the people who have had negative things to say about bumpfiring in this thread, i just wanted to leave my 2 cents on this subject.

p.s. I do fully intend on trying the bumpfire on my XD as well as my buddies AR15

Let me know where you're going to be so I can stay out of your area when you are "blowing off some steam."

Don't let fun take over and make you forget about safety...or maybe I'm just getting old...

Ok...so maybe when a plane is put on auto-pilot it should be illegal because the pilot is not actually physically controlling the actions of the airplane? A plane on autopilot would require no muscle movement to cause the airplane to turn, speed up etc. No one would actually be "controlling" the plane.
I know its not the greatest comparison but its along the same principle if you ask me.

So is anyone going to say what exactly is wrong with this? Someone explain how it's not safe...

I wont be forgetting about safety when i "blow off some steam". I will follow all safety procedures as if I am shooting a pistol regularly, just choosing to use a different method of wasting ammo. What does it matter if i wanna pull a trigger 16 seperate times or letting it do the job by itself....as long as the gun is pointed downrange the entire time?
