It's been around for a long time and it has a mixed record. ATF has outlawed at least two assisted bump fire devices. They are very nasty when it comes to unlicensed machineguns. Just the sound of machinegun fire can bring them running to make a nice day a bad one.

Why do it? It's a huge waste of good ammo. You can't hit anything bumping. Seems to me that it's just a show off ego trip. I never see guys alone bump firing. It's just a fashion show.

to each his own, opinions are like a**holes everyone has one. if the ATF wants to they can chop off my thumbs or maybe i can just register my thumbs. anyway this was just something i wanted to show thought it would be cool didnt mean to get people's panties in a wad. next time i will refrain from posting my "cool" stuff since i always get negative comments back.

I'm not saying it should be illegal but why bumpfire? to me it seems like a waste of ammo, potentially dangerous etc etc. You'd also get thrown out of most ranges in my neck of the woods -to each his own though. I guess I just don't understand the appeal factor. Jerry Miculek is a professional competition/exhibition shooter and if I saw him bumpfiring I would not be bothered by it. For those unfamiliar, videos out on YouTube.com are self explanatory - just do a search for bumpfiring.

after i watched your video i watched the video called "redneck firefight" and shooter 3 and 4 both "flagged" their buddies bigtime. i wonder if they even realized they did it.

Wasting ammo during bump-firing is not a big deal. After all, HE bought the ammo I tried it once and moved on to slow firing after that.
