Warranty Question

New XD owner here and I'm going through all my papers and I don't see anything related a warranty. I figured there would be something that I would need to fill out and mail, but I don't see anything. Is this normal or am I missing something?

Thanks

I don't think you need one. You can read the serial number off the gun and call them. You may have to prove purchase though. My gunshop owner said Springfield is perhaps the best company to work with.

Since they carry a lifetime warranty, what would be the purpose of sending in a card?

You don't need to send in a card. When you bought the gun it was a done deal (if you got it from a legit dealer).

That may be, but it certainly won't hurt anything for me to mail it out.

The card is a marketing info gathering tool masquerading as a warranty card. This is typical with most products.
Some states have law regarding this as not being essential to be covered by warranty. What it will do is if there is ever a recall then you will be contacted. It will help SA get a hold of you.
File your proof of purchase and that will be sufficient. SA are great people and they will always treat you right.

One of the main reasons for sending out the cards for any consumer product is for safety warnings and/or recalls. If you are not registered, they can't notify you.
