Thanks Bill, Coxs' office did the same thing with me but all of the others just took my message and asked what city I was in, sometimes they asked what zip code. If you have time, call the ones on the list above, those are all of the Democrats that will probably be in favor of AB-2062. Torlakson is the Chair and he is one that everyone really should be calling first.

I think different offices probably log differently. You know, if they get tons of calls and they realize that maybe this isn't such a good AB then maybe it makes a difference, maybe not but it never hurts to let your voice be heard, ya know?

Kalifornia where are you!??

Is there anyone else out there calling?

I agree! Phone calls and letters are a waste of time. It's obvious that your elected officials do not listen.

You need to start staging marches on the lawn of the State Capital building. The complacency of calls and letters are much easier to overlook than a rally that draws national attention.

I came up with the idea of a million gun march on DC if the 2nd is ever really threatened ... It is time for gun owners in California to try a different tactic ... You are being overrun with a gun-confiscation mentality and the tactics you have been using obviously don't work.

START A RALLY!
GO DOOR TO DOOR WITH A PETITION!
Deliver the petition at the rally!!!
or relegate yourselves to a very limited future ability to do much of anything. How many freak'n cameras are in that state and you guys & gals can't even get any air time on TV Do something different before your states mentality overflows and Arizona, Nevada and a few other states are required to show you how it is done.

Do it before you end up like these people

Your words prove my point. They are ignoring you.

The reason there are only half of the names on the list are because the other half are Pro-2nd Amendment, so yes it does make a difference. And you should care what happens in California because if it happens here what's stopping it from happening in AZ, the trend will continue on especially if B. Hussain Obama is elected.

You might want to start planning you're Million Gun March now...

And yes, I'll be there...

Taking a message is not ignoring...I don't think anyone is expecting to speak directly to a Senator.

"Senator, you got 150 calls while you were out opposing AB-2062" Do you think he is going to ignore that message?

GET MY POINT!???

Yes, I get your point. I just can't figure out why every month someone starts another thread about gun rights being chopped away in California.

Like Dan asked (in the ChatterBox thread), Do any of these things get shot down ??

Also, I do care. Because the California mentality is very close to my state and as people leave your state ... Some of them bring the gun-grabber mentality with them.
It seems that California has become a trend setting state that eventually crosses the nation .... So I'm saying stop this. I don't want a battle in my state because someone can say ... But California did it!

I guess I should have said, make the phone calls, but do more. Like I said it seems like every month it's another battle. If legislative idiots realized they needed to climb the hill, rather than gun owners having to climb the hill ... Perhaps things would be different

Regardless ... Thanks for starting the thread.

Thanks, I started the thread because I got an NRA alert that the AB2062 bill passed the Senate Public Safety Committee and is now going to the Senate Appropriations Committee for its consideration. Wanted people to know its moving forward, because the last thread on this was that it was suspended.

I feel you on the people leaving Cali and going to AZ and other states and bringing their anti-gun messages with them. So lets hope things get better before they get worse. These idiot laws just piss me off so much, like a criminal is going care about the laws, what is the point? Oh yeah, gun control. Geez...

Anyways, thanks for the clarification AZXD.

Attention Gun Owners!!

Get the hell out of California and go to a state where you actually have a voice.
Where their actually working for your rights instead of to take them away!

What the heck is wrong with CA? I know they are one of the most liberal states in the country but so is Vermont and VT doesn't even have a carry permit requirement. VT was the first in the country to have Civil Unions, remember? CA also used to be a mecca for hot rodding and automotive engineering. CA'tizens can't even change their spark plugs or air filters without CARB approval these days.

I've never lived in CA and I don't know the legislative history but I'm sure the state legislatures absolute power didn't happen overnight. And, I absolutely do believe in calling and writing (email is fine) my state and local congressmen. In fact, so far today I've called senators Gregg and Sununu and emailed Reps. Hodes and Shea-Porter about the FISA amendment act (I'm against it, in case were wondering). I almost always receive a letter in the mail explaining their position on the issue in question. While they might not always agree with me, that correspondance is worth a lot more than a warm fuzzy campaign mailer telling me how cool they are come election time.

I read that everyone was bombarded with email, letters, and calls voicing opposition to AB2062 (I saw anecdotal info that it was the most they had heard from 'the people' in ages about a new bill) but obviously it changed nothing. Me and my Wife both called and wrote letters but I fear they all fell on deaf ears...

Yes...they already have their minds made up and they are going to ignore us. They know what is best for us
