Barrel ramp jammed on locking block
I was reassembling my XD45 after a quick lube job before Saturday's range trip and as I moved the slide back on the frame, the slide jammed. It is so tight I cannot unjam it.

Hmmm...did you put the guide rod back on when you reassembled it? That holds the barrel in place when you put it back together, i could see not having that in place could potentially gum things up. Try to take the slide back off like you were field stripping it. Not sure, lets get some other opinions maybe someone has had this happen before.

ok just checked out my gun. Only way i could make it look like you picture is if the guide rod is not installed. If this is the case for you pull the slide and barrel forward off of the gun. We might need a pic of the entire gun, but i think you will have to tap the back side of the slide towards the front of the gun. Let me know.

Hi PhoenixXD45. Yes, I put the guide rod back in. I would try taking the slide off but it is jammed in the position pictured.

Try putting some balls into it. Don't ram it into a wall or anything...but don't baby it, either.

Ok just wanted to eliminate the guide rod thing. Ive forgotten to put it on once before. Just wanted to check. It looks like you need to take your finger or maybe a pen and pull up on the feed ramp end of the barrel. Your feed ramp is hung up a little bit on the rail. Once the feed ramp clears that piece it should free the thing up.

Hi Joeywhat. I put the back of the slide on the carpet and put all my weight on the front of the trigger guard and grip and it won't budge.

I'm no gunsmith, but...
Had that happen when I first got mine. I used a wooden dowel, placing it against the barrel breech under the slide and gave it a sharp rap with a mallet. Free it with no resulting problem. Good luck - Sheff.
