customer service
I bought an XD service model in 40 cal. a few weeks ago. Had a problem with the extractor at the range.
Called Springfield Armory and they said send it in. I wasn't too happy about this but they sent me a FedEx label by e-mail so I sent it in and figured it would take a couple of weeks or more to get it back. They made the repair and my pistol showed up at my house in a week. To me, that's amazing. That's my first experience with SA customer service and I'm impressed. I couldn't have asked for anything more. That's good service and they'll get more of my business |

I take it that the extractor is one of those 'forbidden' components that us civilians are not allowed to buy direct from SA.
One week is not a bad turnaround time... if this is your primary carry weapon and you dont have a backup then one week = one year. I hope ten years from now we're not hearing, "Man, SA took 6 months to get my weapon back to me!" Or worse yet, "I sent in my weapon to SA and they confiscated it because it wasn't a registered handgun!"

SA is known for great customer service. I have dealt with them once, and was happy with how fast they ship.

I had great service from them as well. I bought a used 1911 (milspec) that had a number of minor issues that needed addressed, S.A. fixed everything and did a great job, too! The pistol came back looking like new, they reparked it. All the work they done cost me nothing, nana, zip, zero.. I've had no further problems with it, and I think they took about 3 weeks. They told me as I was getting ready to send it in to be sure to include a copy of the shipping costs. They sent me a check about a week after the pistol showed up. I dosen't get much better than that...

I'm really glad to read this, as I just bought my first Springer....XD9 Tactical. Better to never have a problem, but good to read about decent service.
