so the butt of the gun doesnt stick up, gives a better angle at the weapon. if you just lay it on the table, it looks like its falling over because the slide pulls it over

Very nice pistol welcome to the club. Also on a side note from other pictures I have seen people block out last couple of numbers on the Serial # don't know why but just giving you a heads up and again welcome.
