Technical Question: 4" barrel fit in 3" gun?

In my quest to find a threaded barrel for my 3" XD9SC I am having to think out of the box.

No one sells a threaded 3" SC barrel.

So what next? Can you drop in a 4" or 5" barrel into a subcompact 9 and work correctly with barrel sticking out?

Anyone know?

No it will not fit. The distance between the lug and the frame is wrong, but on the bright side these guys make what you are looking for

Thanks for the reply. I looked at the pics and noticed the barrels are different.

and unfortunatly I emailed EFK fire dragon and they said they stopped making threaded 9mm SC.

Can anyone think of a way I can get what I need?

Well I just read your other thread and if Scott said you're screwed I think you are. Sorry, but I don't even think that you can go custom at this point because if he can't make it work probably no one can.

I was just going to say that. See if you can order a 3.5" barrel for the SC. Then send it to Tornado Technologies - Home page for threading.

Not sure, but if Scott has tried it and EFK has tried it and they don't work there must be something to it. Call EFK and see if they just didn't sell or there was a design issue. Might be time for a Service compact.....

So why does EFK still have it listed as in stock on their site? Have you contacted them recently?
