Xd40 no so accurate?
Hi guys, been reading mostly but guess it's time to post. I did a lot of research and have come to the conclusion of choosing the XD over the Glock for my first handgun. (I mostly own shotgun and rifles). I have own my Bitone XD40 for about 6 months now. I have put about 2000 rounds through it already but it has always been shooting about 6 to 8 inches down and to the left at 15yards all the time. I did have four experience handgun shooter including the range instructor shot it also. It all came out the same, now, I am wondering that it can't be just me, so is it possible that there is something wrong with the XD itself. And yes, it's been clean about every 100 rounds. I really love this XD especially the bitone model but I seriously thinking that it's not very reliable when the time comes to using it to guard my life or my family. Is it something that I can return back to SA to verify what's wrong with it or something that I'm just stuck with. Any advice is really much appreciated. Thanks!

Run a bore sight on it and see what you come up with!
With mine, I had far left shooting issues big time, come to find out I just needed my sights adjusted! Afterwards, it was dead on! Not always do they come from the factory sighted in straight.

I consistently shoot to the left also. BUT, when I put the pistol on a rest, it is spot on. How are the bullets grouping? If the gun is inaccurate, they will be all over the place. If there is a good group, the gun is fine and you are consistent, then just move the sights.

jesus...did you fail out of grammar school or what? anyway...more than likely it's you. how's your dry-firing? can you pull the trigger on an emtpy chamber (or dummy round) and keep the sights level and still? if not, you need practice. i'm no expert, but here's 10 rounds @ 50':
![]() maybe your sights are off, maybe not. dry-fire a ton, shoot off the bench, etc.

After that many rounds, I would call SA and see what they have to say.

Call springfield and see what they say. My first thought is trigger control, not everyone is used to the xd and its trigger. I myself have had an XD40 and it shot right where i pointed it everytime.
Shoot from a bench and see what you come up with.

If you've put 2k rounds through it and still dropp shots low, I'd call up Springfield.
As for XD40s in general, mine shoots a touch to the left, which is more my trigger finger's problem than the gun

MY XD40 hits where I aim everytime.. It is no Tack driver.. but it isnt supposed to be either.. It goes bang every time all the time..
If there is a problem with your gun, I would have thought it would have been addressed somewhere within the first 500 - 1000 rnds.. 2000 rnds = $700-$1500 in ammo cost alone. All I am saying is I would not have spent that kind of money without having already dealt with this problem, assuming it is a problem with the pistol I would concentrate on your technique, as that is what tends to be the problem the majority of the time. Good luck..

Owned for six month, put 2000 rounds through and just not beginning to think there is a problem?
Don't mean to dis you, but you should have started looking for a solution 1900 rounds ago. Do try some dry firing and see if you are pulling the gun when shooting. Also check your grip and finger position. The trigger should be hitting mid way between the tip and first joint. If these don't solve the problem contact SA. It is possible the sights are off. All XD's are more accurate than most shooters. If the gun is right then the problem has to be with the shooter.

Ask the range master or the most senior shooter wherever you shoot to shoot several rounds at 15 yards. If he puts them inside the 10-ring, it's you. I'm working on the same low-left problem, it's supposed to be flinching or fingertip pressure. I have a friend who's a Deputy and a top shooter who said he'd work with me on it.
