Went to the Range today with

my new XDm, (Father's Day gift) and the new XD45 compact I purchased on sale a week ago along with my XD9sc. Put 200 rounds through the XDm, 200 through the 45, and 100 through the XD9sc. My first time shooting either a 40 cal or 45 cal. Previously concentrated on 9MM and revolvers

The XDm is extremely accurate al all distances, perhaps it is the match grade barrel. I had no difficulty maintaining very tight patterns with it. The recoil was a bit snappy, and actually seemed stronger than that of the 45, but it was not unpleasant or too strong.

I also found the 45 to be very accurate. Although my patterns were not as tight as with the XDm they were still pretty good. This gun is an absolute joy to shoot and the recoil was not nearly what I expected. That said, the muzzle flash was much greater than I expected (shooting 230 grain Blazer Brass and Independence 230 Grain). I debated buying the XD45c or PX4 Storm 45, and settled on the XD primarily because of size, and today I know I made the right choice. This gun along with 12 gauge pump will be my primary home defense weapon and may be my carry weapon on occasion.

The XD9sc continues to perform like a champ and is my primary carry along with a S&W 340PD, 357 cal., which weather in FL dictates that I carry often.

Having been a long time Beretta and S&W fan, I am extremely pleased with the XD's. The XD's are as good as any weapon I have owned or shot previously. Kudos to Springfield for a great family of guns. I am going to put several hundred more rounds through each of the XD's in the coming weeks and anticipate continued excellent performance.

You got quite a nice lineup of XDs, and a great wife. I mean come on, a XDM for Father's Day...you must be doing something right!
