new owner of XD-40 M (match grade)

I'm a new owner of the XD line as of the other day. Been admiring the XD-40 for a while. It just felt right in my hand. Being a lefty, I apprecite the ambidextorous mag release feature of the XD line.

I already have a HK USP Compact .40 LEM for my official government issued weapon. That has great features for a left handed shooter. Maybe better than the XD. The HK SLIDE Release is large enough for a lefty to operate with my shooting index finger.

My new XD-40 M's SLIDE release is tiny when compared to my other weapon making it difficult to operate cleanly. I didn't realize how difficult it was to do so until after I picked up the weapon from the shop after I order it sight unseen.

Q:
Do all XD's have such a small SLIDE release? It seems the regular XD-40 I played with in another store last year did not have that problem, but I may be wrong.

Also, I am a bit disappointed in that the S/A advertisment in the Guns and Ammo. magazine. I saw the gun in that magazine last week and said they include "two additional magazines". Well I only got two. I would have expected three. I will have to call them on that because my gun shop called his wholesaler on that and he said that deal was for law enforement only. What the hell does that suppose to mean???

The way I look at it, if you put something like "two additonal magazines" in your ad to the public, then you should include just that and not make it specific to law enforcement only. It certainly doen not say that in the ad.

Anyway, I am bitching about BS and not telling you what I really want to. It is a beautiful gun. It includes a match grade bored out barrel and many other accessories including a holster, mag speed loader, lock, a two well mag holder, etc.

Not cheap, I paid $687 total with FL tax and background check. But a great gun to own. Overall, I am happy with my purchase and glad to be a new XD owner. I just hope I can get some satisfaction from their cust. svc. people tomorrow when I call about the extra magazine and their slighly deceptive advertising. Oh, and I want them to trade out the right hand molded pistol holster for a left one.

What do you think my chances are of that. Anyone?

These are more slide stop than they are slide release. Just use the sling shot method to chamber the first round in the magazine.

I use the sling shot method on all of my semiauto pistols even if it has
an adequate sized release.

This part is unimportant as cash quickly fades with time.

This part is extremely important as the gun is likely to be with you for a long time.

I quit reading gunrags like G&A years ago, but my humble opinion is that, if the ad doesn't mention l.e. at all in the ad, which would indicate that the ad wasn't focused on the l.e. market, then Springfield should supply three mags with each pistol.

Cool - and (BTW) I don't drool, spasm, or do anything like that (at least not while on a keyboard).

And why would I check another area of the forum when there's no indication at all that this thread was ever moved from one area to another? Because of your AR post? I don't think so - most of what you post is pure 'old biddie' carping......

Man, you need to lighten up - not everyone is as AR as you - some of us actually enjoy playing around up here (which, BTW, is what I always thought was the REASON for this forum).....
