Increased Accuracy Easily

I am trying to improve the accuracy of my xd45, I am considering a match grade barrel. Are there any other ways to bring up the accuracy easily, i.e. trigger jobs etc.

Well, although a match barrel would help, I don't think you're going to get it much more accurate...XD's are very accurate right out of the box. If you're going for competition, then yes, match components will certainly help. The trigger is based soley on the shooter, and doesn't inherently effect accuracy. If you can shoot a shorter/lighter/whatever trigger more accurately, go for it.

Pistolgear should have at least the barrel, and Springfield can also do quite a bit of work - and keep the factory warranty.

It is amazing how much accuracy you gain by simply practicing with your gun, dry fires with snapcaps and learning to pull the trigger 'mechanically' ie. without the fear of the "Bang!".

I don't think there's a person in this world who can say he or she shoots better then the gun.

I have a 40SC and I can hit 3 inch clays at 30 yards. (way more accurate than I think I will ever need in SHTF situations.) I do have a powder river safety lever in mine, but what has helped me the most was just going to the range and shooting as much as I could, and playing around with grip positions. I found that the one thing I was doing that most affected my shooting was I was putting too much finger on the trigger, as soon as I figured that out I saw a HUGE improvement in my shooting. that night I practiced drawing and dryfiering so I could get the muscle memory, and the next time I went out I was able to draw and shoot and my groups had halfed in size.

Same here. Using only the upper part of my trigger finger. It helped.

Yep. +1 for that. When I started centering the pad of my finger on the trigger, rather than wrapping around my groups shrunk considerably. Also, during dry fire, focus on the front sight not moving at all through the full range of trigger motion. Start slow, then work up to speed. It helps to keep the muzzle an inch or two away from a textured wall. This helped me out a lot.

yeah that 21' rule is for the birds, let 'em get nice and close so you can be sure to hit them.

What kind of groups and at what distance are you wanting to get?
