"What kind of groups and at what distance are you wanting to get?"
My thought exactly. We don't know the O.P.'s skill level, but many are telling him to practice more. Maybe he needs to practice, maybe he's darn good now. I had reached a level with my S.A. Loaded 1911 that I thought was my best, until they fit a new barrel for me. My groups shrank noticeably. Agalindo's question gets to the heart of the matter. Chuck |

the hs-xd are very accurate out of the box. if the shooter does his part then the gun will do the rest. its not the handgun that dictates a better shooter but the shooter using the handgun that dictates how well he shoots

Nothing comes easy, it all takes practice. A lighter trigger pull may help you from jerking the trigger if you want to add something to the gun. For a tactical weapon like the XD, if you can shoot at a rate of 1 shot every 2 seconds and keep all the rounds in a 6" group from 10 yards you are doing well. From there you can set up practice sessions that would tighten the group or quicken the rate. I would not expect groups tighter than 4" if you are using store bought ammo, not because the ammo is bad but because it may not be the ideal load for your gun. If you want to start reloading you can develop rounds that work better for you and the gun. Honestly the XD is not really the ideal bullseye gun if that is what you are looking for.

The more I shoot, the better I get. Today I shot 2" groups, 1" to the left, at 7 yards. That's after 1200 total rounds, XD45 tac. Now I need a bit more work on trigger finger placement.
