XD M magazine compatibiltiy

Hey, I been reading about the new XD M and heard that the 40sw magazines are not compatible with the old XD.

Does anyone know if the same will be true for the other calibers when they come out.

It would kinda suck for people who have allot invested in the current platform and they have allot of magazines for the current 9mm and 45 XD and they not work for the new model.

only time will tell... but I recall reading somewhere here that the grip size was 'slightly; different - don't remember if slimmer or wider - so the standard mags may not fit. The baseplates on the XDm's mags look slightly larger than the standard XD40's.

There's already a few good threads here about the XDm, why not try checking them out? You may find the info you're looking for w/ some current owners.

The XD .40 was based off a 9mm design, the XDM .40 is based off a .40 design. That means the mags aren't the same, but that is NOT a bad thing, the XDM mags hold 3 more rounds in the stock mag, that is good.

As neato as it would be to have the mags interchangeable, I don't mind having an excuse to work up another range bag full of love!

Springer - you have these M's sorted out yet? I LOVE my XD40Tactical that you worked over a couple years back.
