My second free XD
Last year I won an XD9 Tactical package that included a trigger job and extras form Canyon Creek Custom, grip enhancement and Dawson front sight. I sold it because it just didn't fit me right. Well, this year at the Texas State IDPA Championship I won ANOTHER XD9 Tactical!!!! Not sure if this is a sign or what but I'm certain it will have to go too. I'm just wondering if there's an XD out there that might fit me? Does the .45 have a larger grip?

Lucky indeed..........I told them I'll keep coming back EVERY YEAR if they keep giving me pistols for free!! Sad part is that I really like the pistol, I just can't get a good grip on the pistol. I have big mitts and ride that slide lock and my support hand can't get situated on the grip very well. Just not working out
 . It is up for trade on the forum. |

The XD45 does have a larger frame and grip. You could also try the new XD40m. It comes with interchangable backstraps on the grip. With the largest backstrap. It should feel more like the XD45.

That sounds like a better option.......I'd like one in the 9mm flavor though. I'm a die hard Beretta fan but their recent botched release dates on the PX4 subcompact have me looking elsewhere for the time being.

Hang onto your Tactical and wait for them to introduce the XDm in 9mm ~ it shouldn't take them long.
In the mean time, check out your local shop to handle the XDm and see if it fits your sasquatch mitts.
