Gathering guns & ammo just in case...
I'm ordering (Monday) an XD-9 Sub-compact with the Heinie night sights direct from Springfield (military discount) and I also ordered a shotgun today from Buds. I've shot several different guns over the years, but these will be the first I've purchased/owned (other than airguns).
I read Massad Ayoob's article in the Backwoods Home magazine and decided that it's time to stock up in case the Democraps get the white house and ban all semi-autos. Can't wait to shoot these babies!

Yeah, I can't help but feel like I bought my XD just in time! Next on the list is an AR and defensive shotgun, while those are still legal

That's the excuse I am using with my wife to buy more guns.
Whether a ban comes along or not, the value of guns always seem to go up in price. I've never seen the price come down. A good reason to stock up on ammo also. Someone started a "box a week" thread in the ammo forum. I have been doing that lately. One week I will buy a box of 9mm. Next week I will buy a box of 45acp. Then some .223 and 22LR etc. The price is only going up. |

That is a great idea. I'll be implementing that. Hopefully I don't shoot it all. One box to shoot & one box to store a week!

Do you mean you ordered direct from Springfield? If so, can you PM with contact info? I was told you could only do Mil/LE discounts by working with one of their LE dealers.

Since there are no authorized LE dealers in Alaska I could order direct. If you have a local LE dealer they can probably get you the same price. The price list is "confidential" but if you are military or LE you can e-mail Lexi for a price list. A discount plus an extra magazine and no shipping...it's a pretty good deal.

I just e-mailed Lexi, so hopefully I'll get the secret list. I want to add the XD40 SC to my list for concealed carry. Plus it will make a nice addition to the Springfield family I started.

Do not forget to stock up on high capacity magazines for all your semi-auto weapons as they will surly be the first to go. If it becomes clear that another AWB is near, prices will spike. Last time I saw $18 Glock magazines go to $120 overnight.
If you don't reload, maybe now would be a good time to consider it. Those who do, stock piling reloading components (bullets, brass, primers, powder) is the prudent thing to do. To be honest, I started preparing for the next AWB as soon as the last one sunset in 2005. There are dark days ahead my friends, we should all have a plan to get what we want or need now. Anyone who believes we won't see another AWB and even more restrictive measures in the near future are living in denial. |
