Haven't been around much.
I haven't been around much lately. No excuse, just haven't been.
Well, a day or two ago I went to the range and shot my XD-9 and my wife's G-19 for the first time in months. The first thing that surprised me was the price of the ammo. The range where I was shooting requires you to buy ammo there, but since the range time is free, it's more or less works out about even. Well the ammo was a lot less expensive than I expected. I don't know what I expected, but it seems to me that it had only gone up a buck or two since the last time I was there. As a matter of fact they now offered Atlanta Arms reloads that were the same price as I used to pay for American Eagle ammo at the same place. Considering how much I've read over the last few months about ammo going up I expected it to be MUCH higher. Anyway, I ran a box through each of the 9mm's I had with me. I have never really favored the XD or the Glock really. I just don't see much difference in the two. I supposed I'd give the edge to the XD, but only because I don't really care too much for the finger groves on the Glock, and I might shoot the XD a little better, but I do have a lot more experience with it. Even this time I shot the Glock first, so I had some trigger time in before I shot the XD. Neither gun malfunctioned at all, and neither ever has. While I was there I put a few hundred rounds through my Ruger Bearcat and my Dan Wesson 22 pistol. Man that Dan Wesson is a shooter. I picked it up a few months ago when I saw it at my local dealer. I had one years ago, but like an idiot traded it off for I don't even remember what now. I always said I was going to get another one if I ever saw one. The Bearcat is just FUN. It's not an easy gun to shoot. If you take your time and get the sights lined up just right, it's accurate, but it doesn't take much to be off just a bit. I've never had a more convient gun to carry around here on the "coumpound" though. It's small and light and easy to carry around to repel marauding pine cones and old tree stumps and such. I know. That was boring, but I had a notice when I logged in telling me to post something. I'll talk about my air rifle next.

I had a Dan Wesson .357 mag with a 6" barrel. I still regret selling it.
