I was actually looking around for a place close to local that would install sights on this for a fair price.

Thanks for the suggestion...I'm e-mailing Mr.Gilbert right now!

XDs are boresighted at the factory, the sights are probobly right where they ought to be. Hard to imagine how they could get way off by accident seeing as how hard they are to move to begin with.

Exactly my thoughts but the picture tells a thousand words...the rear dovetail is significantly over to the left.

The pic is terrible.

Why are the sights adjustable if being in the middle is the ONLY proper place ? Sights are probably in the right place be they in the middle or not.

If a boresight showed that the rear sight needed to hang off the side to shoot straight I'd get another gun. I doubt thats the case though. Try a punch to move it. If not got to a good local smith and he will take care of it in 5min.

Mine TOO!!

I had the same issue on my XD9-SC, but luckily I had a guy at my local range here in San Diego that had the sight pushing tool for the XD. I guess they have a lot of XD's come throught there to warrant the need for the specific tool. Once it was pushed over a little, she was dead on! Good Luck!

sights off

Hey Gang,

Foo_909............I had the same problem with my 9mmXD sc ...Bought it brand new and the sights were off ....you could visually see the rear sights were not center on gun... You can find my thread and read all about it....
I brought up the issue of quaility control ............ and I still believe there is a quality control problem.
I got a large hammer and knock the sights over and now the gun shoots fine. I still am going to get differant sights. Just havent decided on which ones yet, no rush ......
Good luck
Jack

Just an update.. I got my gun back about 3 weeks ago but didn't get a chance to shoot it until today with the Gilbert's installed TFO's.

What a world of difference..I was all over the center at 21ft. I'm very pleased and my faith is restored in the XD.

The sights were VERY bad off from the factory.
