That gun shop has it's head in the sand, be careful about advice and info from them, they should know something THAT simple backwards and forwards.
I think Cali and Mass both have 10rnd limits??? Or just cali?

Cali-legal guns can not have greater than a 10-round mag, else they're classified as an assault weapon. The service comes with 2 of the "13-round" length mags modified to hold only 10. The compact comes with a 10-round 'shorty' and a 13-round modified to hold only 10, plus the spacer on the bottom to extend the handle.

Get the compact, you can put 10 in the mag and it's almost an inch shorter grip, or the longer if you think you'll need 13.

Welcome to xdtalk.

Most interesting because every AR15 and AK47 I've ever seen has a magazine. Not to mention Thompson sub-machine guns as well as my CZ 452, Ruger 10-22s, and any number of Winchester and Remington rifles both centerfire and rimfire. As well as a good many others. The correct terminology is a clip is used to load cartridges into some magazines. A magazine is actually what holds the ammo.
