On the basis of the round and capacity only, would you pick?

13 of .45

OR

16 of .40

Really it can only take one round... but my personal preference is .45

13+1 of .45

My reasons being:
  • I don't like the snappiness of the .40's recoil (though I understand that there are things that can mitigate it like, different gun, different recoil spring, heavier guid rod, etc...)
  • I like the historic aspect of the .45 round
  • I like that the hole will never be less than .45" whether the round expands or not (I know that "stopping power" is determined by the amount of kinetic energy transferred to the target, but in my head, bigger hole equals more damage)
  • The extra three rounds don't really impress me 'cause if I've thrown 13+1 .45 rounds at a BG and s/he's still coming, I'm pretty much screwed
