XD 3" SC Barrel conversion? .40 to .357

Just trying to find out where I can get a Conversion Barrel
for my XD SC 3" .40

any help is greatly appreciated.

I may be wrong because that happens often... but I don't think you can drop-in conversion barrel in a SC.

I called Springfield and they said the SC was the only one you couldnt convert but then another member showed me this.

Try to order one. There is pretty much no after market sc barrels.

Could I put a 4" service conversion barrel in my .40 SC, just to plink / practice with? Is it just the matter of an extra 1" of barrel sticking out, or would there be other issues?

No,

The difference in the SC is in the lockup area of the barrel which are dimensionally different than the full size barrels.
