I have a friend that is a machinest and we have been discussing side work. I will get my xd-45 this month and we will port it like the v-10 or the xd-40. is anyone interested having this done to their pistol. I don't want a discussion just interest if mine works out. Considering the .45's recoil aint bad at all, and with the slide-cracking issues that the ported pistols have, I think its a problem disguised as a solution in search of a problem.

so you are saying that this port job has been tested on a xd-45 and it had cracking issues? Remember don't open your mouth untill you can prove it or your only crying wolf. I'm talking this port job not any other. Can anyone else chime in that had a crack problem on their pistol ported like this.

It looks nice, but not for me. I like mine just the way it is.

Good luck though.

I'm pretty sure I complimented the work done on this gun some time back. What I really like is the polish job that was done on the barrel.

Gotta tell you, you come across more than a little rude saying something like that. Maybe you should search the subject on this site. Or, I don't know, "not make the assumption that someone is an idiot".

The XD9 tends to crack the most.

It looks good. But I kinda look at it like this. Sa has spent thousands of dollars designing each pistol. They offer a 100% lieftime warranty. Why go out of the way change its function and void the warranty. Im not saying anything bad against it, I just dont think I would do it. I am not trying to sound rude like some just MHO

I don't see the point of porting an xd the recoil is not that bad and in this picture the ports are kinda back from the muzzle how much good are the going to do ? seems to me the money that this would cost could be put into ammo and practice .
