During summer, as it's warm in N.C. and I wear my cargo shorts, I carry a XD-9 s/c in one of my cargo shorts pockets. I like the grip angle on the XD better than the Glock(personal preference)but they're both accurate and reliable. I also like the grip safety with the gun being in my pocket, little more peace of mind. Main thing is get what you shoot best with as carrying concealed you need to be able to shoot the gun quickly in the extremely slim chance of needing a pistol. Both are great guns, you'll find negative people towards each, but what it boils down to with me is the Glock grip angle isn't as natural to me as the XD(yes I was trained with the 1911). If the Glock feels better get that, the difference in size, of which there is so little, shouldn't matter so much as what you feel comfortable with if you would need to use it.

I have 3 XDs but I carry a Glock 27. I think it is just what you feel most comfortable with. I like the idea of having a grip safety. I may switch someday.

Thanks for all the replies. I have the .40xd service and too would be interested in knowing what holster AFMO uses.

I have really broad shoulders so the G26 w/o pearce extention was hard to draw smoothly from the 0330-0400 position (which concealed the best). So with the pinky extention on, it would be wiser to just get the G19. With that said, I'm thinking the XD9sub would be a better choice. I would really like to carry the XD compact model, but I have a hard time concealing with my body type. Is Springfield planning on offering a 9mm Compact in the future?

By the way, I have been using a Wilderness belt and MCTAC holster.

Thanks.

G19 vs XD45C Size for CC

Full size G19 and XD45C (10 rd mag) CC comparision. I know they are different calibers but I am speaking gun size here for CC. They are virtually the same size. For each gun I have the same brand holster and IWB they conceal virtually the same.

I can shoot this pistol amazingly well at 25 yards, which is more than I can say for ANY small pistol I've ever tried. That's with the standard stubby mags and accompanying 3 finger grip.

That being said, there are a lot of things about Glocks that I don't particularly like. When I'm carrying IWB, I tend to go with one of the other brands. In the world of sub-compacts, I believe Glock remains King of the Hill. I wish it weren't so, b/c I'd much rather have an HK or SIG 9mm that is the size of a PM9. I'm not holding my breath though. When smallest possible size, reliability, and firepower are most important, baby Glocks seem to have been untouched for the past 13 years. Others come close, but there are trade-offs: less reliability, less firepower, more difficult to shoot past 7 yards, etc.
+1

That is exactly what I was going to say. I hated Glocks for the longest time but what finally turned me onto to them are the sub-compact models. They are the smallest/lightest pistols that still have all the traits of a full-size weapon. I love my G27, but I think either will serve you well.

Yea I love my G26. My friend has a XD9SC that I want to shoot though, but for CCW the Glock is a better from the size standpoint.

I prefer my G19 for carry over an XD, actually I sold my XD40 to buy the Glock, I like the shorter grip for concealment.

I carry either a Glock 29 or XD9SC. I think much of the conealiabilty depends on the holster you use as well as the size of the gun. The G29 is a descent size to conceal, but the holster I use, a Fobus revolution is not the best for concealability, so I am forced to where a long loose fitting shirt to minimize the printing effect. I use a SA paddle holster designed for the 9SC, and it hides will with a t-shirt hanging loose.
