What is the difference
Sorry if this has been answered before I tried to search it but didn't find the answer. What is the difference between the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Gen HS2000?
Also what is the difference with these guns and the XD-9? are the mags interchangeable? Thanks and this is a great site! |

Welcome to the HS/XD forum. Cosmetic differences only. All parts the same. Mags are the same.

The generation 1 does not have a rail under the dust cover.
I am not sure of the differences between the 2 and 3 though.

Take a look at my website, I have archived the HSARMS website and the following link has an explanation as well as pictures
http://www.xd-hs2000.com/hsarms/news/generations.html All parts for the most part are interchangable as are the Magazines. |

ajames,
Would the additional slot on the slide rail of the newest frames be considered Gen 4? |

Yes it is the newest "major" change to the frame or side since the gen 3 as far as retooling. Also the hole behind the mag well is also changed.

Is $300 a good price to pay for a used gen 1 in mint condition? It comes with the case and two original 10 round mags

I would say that is a good price for that gun. You know you are getting a very high quality pistol with the HS and it is fully backed by Springfield!
I love my HS gen 1...
