I plan on sending my new Xd45 service to Springfield for the competition trigger job, personally...

I've done the buff job on my XD triggers. All it takes is a Dremel tool, some metal polish and about 30 mins. Basically, you take the gun apart and polish all metal surfaces that rub against something.
I have a Powder River Precision Safety Lever and some lighter sear and trigger springs. I just added the new Overtravel Stop. All are simple to install once you've done it once. I'll be making a How-To thread that will show how to install both Powder River Precision products.

Thanks to you guys too Shipwreck and Propeller. I'm looking for ideas. I heard that Springfield will do trigger jobs. I wonder how much different they are from my XDm trigger. It is a lot different from my other XDs.

The XDM is a bit different, but we have new trigger bars in the que for them. We have made some up for the XDM for in shop use, but they are not available for sale yet.

I have the "Competition" trigger job from SA Custom Shop on my XD45. It is VERY different from the XDM. The XDM is an improvement over the origial XD with a shorter pull, less uptake, and shorter reset... But the Custom shop work is MUCH better.
Zero overtravel, 3.5-4lbs (though they can do any weight you want), almost no creep, half the factory stroke, and less than half the reset. Super crisp. Dare I say 1911-esque. It is top-dollar at over $170 but you RETAIN the factory SA lifetime warrantee. My XD9SC is next, for the "carry" triger job. Same work, but 4.5-5lbs. I assume Springer Precision does just as good of a job, but any outside work voids your warantee. PS... Turn-around time was less than 30 days, INCLUDING shipping. Customer Service is excellent. JW

How does that effect the handling of your gun? Seems like a good idea, but is it worth the effort? Personally I like my trigger, and I've only got about 175 rounds through, so it's not even broken in yet.
