XD 40 s&w Recoil

I don't have an XD 40 service, but the recoil from my tactical 40 is much less than my G22. Maybe they're on to something about the stiff recoil spring on the service you shot.

4" is pretty accurate- the 5" should be a step up- and this pistol will be for target and home defense. voila- I gets my 40 Tactical.
The weird thing is it seems my tactical kicks more than that service- both shooting WWB 165gr- and my tactical does'nt seem to have an accuracy edge- at least for me.
Anybody experienced this?

1. extra inch of barrel = higher pressures upon bullet exit, increased recoil.
2. need about 500+ rounds through it to get everything seated, worn in and working the best.
3. both will shoot well, it's shooter more than gun.

4. It'll be fine, give it time, and shoot shoot shoot

I just shot an XD40 service today, and the recoil was very manageable...my only prior experience with the .40 was with a P99, and it was quite awful. I have been considering a larger .40 for winter concealed carry or for hunting, but wasn't sure about the recoil...I can safely say there's at least one gun in .40 I wouldn't mind shooting.
