Grip Tape
I have noticed that some seem to use Skateboard Grip tape on their XD's, how does this feel, can you notice this when using a IWB holster. Does it rub on you or grab onto your shirt at all?

The grip tape aka skateboard tape or anti-slip tape you buy at Home Depot for about $8 a roll. It's pretty agressive stuff almost like really rough sandpaper coated with some thin plastic.
It can rub if you don't wear an undershirt, about 1/2 of the grip is not covered by the Crossbreed. I usually wear IWB with the holster at about 4 o'clock just behind my right hip. The rubbing depends on the carry position and grip length plus body motions. It's never bothered me but again I wear an undershirt. I've got both XD's wrapped in it and really like it. I did spend some time cutting out and fitting a few sections for the service and re-wrapped it about a year ago. I haven't noticed it catching on clothes while wearing the Crossbreed IWB or Galco OWB with the SC or Service. With the tape being agressive I'm sure it could wear your clothes out where it rubs, mostly your shirt however, I haven't had a problem with it. When I grip the gun to shoot, it's not going anywhere in my hand. It's a solid grip, zero slipage even when your hands are sweaty or wet. If you get a good grip your first grab you are set. I've given several inches to my friends with Glocks and its hit and miss with them. Most of them have done grip reduction / modifications and stiple after so they don't use it plus it doesn't stick to the stipling. You will find you like it or don't right off the bat. My dad says it's way to agressive for him. He doesn't shoot very often though. My wife said she likes it and that it helps her hold the gun when it recoils with her small hands. All of my friends who have shot the XD with it like it. I just gave a section of it to one friend who just got his CCW to put on his XD SC 40. I've got a roll of it, PM me your contact info I'll send you several inches to try it.

No that is what I call a very informed and well worded reply. That is what i was looking for. I just ordered my Crossbreed Supertuck tonight. I wear a undershirt a lot of the time. The thing about it catching my shirt was more about during regular movement does the shirt get caught on it (being that aggressive) causing printing or issues that you can feel when twisting.

i have it on both of my XDs and i like it a lot. i have not CC'd with it yet. i have heard of guys using tape only on the front strap and the right side of the grip (for righties) so that it doesn't rub their side. i will be trying this out as soon as i get my Supertuck.

Does the adhesive wear out? Seems like over time the tape would "wander."

yeah, you just have to try it to believe us. mine has never wandered, yet it also does not leave any sticky residue when you pull it off. i think the adhesive must be the 8th wonder of the world...
i would have thought you could have one or the other, but not both. it's great stuff.

I have stair tread tape on all my XDs...carry, competition, and home defense. It does the trick for me.

i use black hockey tape on mine. not as abrasive and the grip is better when it gets wet. won't bleed or catch on clothes.
