One thing I might add is that when I put my grip tape on, I added a strip right above the trigger guard so that my finger always holds tight to it when not on the trigger. It feels for it when removing the gun from my holster. Added security, I guess. I just punched a hole in the tape for the pin to move freely, if you can see it in the pic.

The skateboard tape I use on my comp guns hurt a lot when I tried to carry IWB, so I bought some of the rubber grip tape for my XD9SC. It's all a compromise.
