FTE When Shooting an XD without a Mag?
Today I shot my SC 9 without a mag and only had two FTE from maybe 5-6 shots. I also shot the gun by loading the bullets straight into the chamber and only had one FTE on the first try, the others were flawless.
Anyone tried to do the same, what were the results? |

I think it maybe my fault the first time I tried to load into the chamber, and didn't pust bullet far enough which caused FTE.

I tried the same thing once, but rather than having a FTE, my case came out through the grip (no magazine).

Extractor isn't designed to be slammed into a round already seated in the chamber.

Magazine fed semi auto handguns are meant to feed up from the magazine and the rim slides under the extractor. If you drop the slide on a chambered round, you are forcing the extractor to snap over the rim. If you do this very much, you stand a good chance of chiping or breaking the extractor on most semi auto handguns.
