Jams

I finally got a chance to get to the shooting range and pop off some rounds on my SA-XD .45. It is nice and accurate, no real percieved recoil. I managed to put all the rounds at 7 yards or so right between and in the eye areas of the "bad guy target" and didn't slouch so bad at the 25 for body hits. The only problem I had was on two of my mags I had to "Tap, Rack" and then get back out there. I thought, maybe it is because the mags are new and they are getting testy about being loaded to 13 rounds. So, I brought them down to twelve. Still each magazine, a tap, rack each. They seemed to be jamming in the breach. The rounds are Federal .45 ACP JPH's (I didn't want to waste my good Hornadys. and I had about 200 Federal JHP's laying around.) Has anyone had this problem or a potential solution. These are brand new XD factory mags...And no I was not, as some old coot suggested "limp wristing" it. I never limp wrist my pistols. Two hands, two thumbs forward.
