Magazine Maker

I was wondering if anyone knew who makes the magazines for HS and Springfield on the XD's?

Are there aftermarket makers out there that I've not seen?

Is there a source for a metal follower to replace the plastic ones on the OEM magazines or another high cap model that uses metal followers that will work in the XD (especially the XD45 13 round magazine).

Reading my latest American Handgunner mag, and saw an ad for Mec-Gar. It says their magazines come standard with 50 prominent manufactures, and notes SA as one of them. No idea of authenticity. Hope this helps.

Looked...

I looked on Mecgar's website and it does not list the XD as one they make mags for.

The OEM body, base, and spring are excellent - I am not a fan of the plastic followers though.

Ammo seems to be cutting / wearing a channel in the plastic of the followers and I am looking for replacement followers made of metal in the XD45(acp).

Do any of the double stack 45acp mags from other manufacturers offer metal followers in their mags?

Time to do some experimenting if I find one that does...

I am sure that the metal followers come
in single stack only.

look at beretta mag's...they are almost identical to xd mag's.

i remember a while back some members were using the beretta mag's in thier xd's.

but you might be able to find a beretta mag with a metal follow, then just throw the follower in your xd mag.

good luck.
