Took the wife shooting yesterday

I finally got the mrs. to go shooting with me to play with her p22...but it didn't go so well. She had a bad experience the first (and only other time) she went shooting.(she caught a hot .22 casing between the twins) Anyways I bought the p22 for her 2 Christmas's ago and she finally shot it yesterday. She shot about 1.5 mags and after a spent casing bounced off her head she was done. Not to mention she had her eyes closed while she was shooting and she wouldn't even touch the XD or Mini

Oh well atleast I had some company while I shot

At least you got her to go and shoot. I can't even get mine to hold my XD more than the once I showed her how to load and rack the slide.

Hmm...left handed. She should wear a baseball cap. I learned to always wear one at the range...man casings are flying everywhere and not just from the guy next to me. The XD spits em hard and they bounce back from the cage. Although today I didn't get hit by any.

At least you got her to try it. My wife doesn't even like the word gun and isn't real happy when Grandpa and I take my 6 yo to the range.

you have a hot wife - you do not get to complain too much.

I am hoping my wife (who is also hot) will shoot my .45 when I get it on Friday. She does not like guns much. I only have a 12 gauge right now and it is a little much for her. I am looking into getting a bolt action .22 so she can become more comfortable with them. She said she will give the XD a try, I cannot ask for much more. I will have to remember the hat thing.

It's good to hear that other guys on here have wives/gf's that want nothing to do with firing a gun. I was beginning to think I was the only one after all the stories of guys' wives that have their own carry firearms and whatnot. lol

Just like everything else, some like it some don't. My wife has her carry permit, but doesn't carry yet. I'm looking at joining the national guard and one of the first things she said was, "I want my own gun, one I can carry for when you're gone." She shoots both the XD45 compact and then 1911 quite well, and I was surprised as she had never even handled a gun prior to us getting married.

My wife has her own target bow. I don't know if you're into archery, but maybe she'll shoot the bow with you. I enjoy that and my wife likes to challenge me to competitions.

MY wife can attest to the joy the feel of hot 22 brass. Her P22 has done the same thing in the past. Thankfully I spent a little time tweaking the extractor to keep it from doing that again. She still enjoys shooting though, enough that I had to buy her a Mark III 22/45 as well. She doesn't shoot my XD much anymore, which is FINE by me. She always had a problem pulling the slide back on my XD anyways!

Same here. My wife loves shooting, we go to the range together 3-4 days a week. The only problem is the cost of ammo when supplying two people
